While pastels are a truly beautiful medium for pet portraits I prefer not to do pets.

Please contact me to discuss what you really, really want.

Pastels use the same pigments as those used in oil paintings and will last for centuries. Some of Leonardo da Vinci's pastels are 500 years old.

Like any pigment based art, pastels are best hung out of direct sunlight to avoid UV damage.

I recommend framing with non-reflective art glass, as it not only protects from dust and moisture it reduces lighting reflections.

Gravity and vibrations can displace a small amount of pastel dust over time. Pastel framers have excellent techniques to catch and hide any potential pigment dust.

If you are buying locally from me then I am happy to recommend an excellent local framer who does a fantastic job.
