Do you do ship originals?
Yes though please note:
Originals are shipped unframed for safety
Original pastel artwork is covered by archival glassine paper and then sandwiched between foamboard before being secured by cardboard wrapping or boxed
Standard size of my pastel art is 500mm by 700mm
Shipping costs require individual quotes by companies that specialize in shipping art
Prices are dependent on location
Original shipped art is insured.
How will my prints be packaged?
A4 Prints are carefully packaged in an archival clear bag with acid free backing board, then placed in a rigid cardboard mailer
A3 Prints are carefully rolled in acid free tissue and placed in a cardboard poster box
How much does postage cost in NZ?
A4 Prints can be posted using economy mail for $6 or $15 for overnight courier.
A3 Prints are delivered by courier

How long does shipping take in NZ?
I process orders by the second business day of having received the order. This allows customers to cancel their order if they change their mind.
NZ economy aims to deliver within 1-3 business days and NZ Post couriers aim to deliver the next day.
Do you offer International Shipping?
The international market has suffered significant disruptions from 2024-26 with shipping costs and uncertain tariffs. If your heart is set on a piece then please contact me for personal service on finding appropiate shipping for your country. Afterall the value of art is as great as your heart desires.
Can I pick up a print or an original from your studio?
Absolutely! Most of my sales are in person and I love to meet with those who are adopting my art pieces and prints. Please contact me for pickup service.
I live in the Wellington/Manawatu Region, can you deliver original framed art in person?
Absolutely! Most of my sales are in person and I love to meet with those who are adopting my art pieces. Please contact me for personal delivery service.
Can I cancel my order?
If you would like to cancel your order please contact me within 24 hours and I will cancel your order and refund your purchase.
What happens if my print is damaged or lost in the post?
In case of damage by NZ Post, please contact me within 7 days of delivery to return your order for a refund. In case of delay, please note NZ Post delivery times are targets only. Please contact me if your order does not arrive on time.
Commission and Care FAQ
Do you paint pet portraits?
No thanks, although I do recommend pastels as a truly beautiful medium for pet portraits.
Do you do portrait commissions?
Not normally... though if your heart is really set on one then please contact me to discuss what you really, really want.
How should I care for original pastel paintings?
Pastels will last for centuries. Some of Leonardo da Vinci's pastels are 500 years old. Pastels use the same pigments as those used in oil paintings.
Like any pigment based art, pastels are best hung out of direct sunlight to avoid UV damage.
I recommend framing with non-reflective art glass, as it not only protects from dust and moisture it reduces lighting reflections.
Gravity and vibrations can displace a small amount of pastel dust over time. Pastel framers have excellent techniques to catch and hide any potential pigment dust.
If you are buying locally from me then I am happy to recommend an excellent local framer who does a fantastic job.
